When I arrived in Heraklion Crete I thought it was to see Knossos - a Minoan village dating to 1700BCE...with evidence of Neolithic inhabitation from 5000BCE...and I did see this. But so much has been "reconstructed" it is hard to tell the real from...

Well I suppose we were pretty spoilt in Santorini. But I have to say Crete wasn't exactly what we had in mind!

We left Santorini on the slow boat (took about 3 hours) to Crete (which we heard was fabulous) and were sorely disappointed!

Somehow wherever I am on holiday I think about Mark.
