... through Bolzano. We have to take a short cut through the mountains to the A22 motorway. It’s a good choice, as the road is nothing less than spectacular, which we share with multiple motorcycle groups (not gangs!). We even find a stylish supermarket, probably used by the ski set in the winter, in the village of Val Gardena.

Claims aside, it was very good, and unusually, quite catholic in that every sign in the place ( and there were thousands of them) was in German, Italian and English, and occasionally a couple of other languages that I didn't understand.
A bit tired after tramping around this place for hours so we headed back to camp only to find that someone had pinched our spot.... ...
