... enjoyed the short 2 mi hike to view the Dying Lion of Luzern, a sculpture carved from a granite cliff in 1820 to commemorate the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution. Drinks along the promenade and dinner in another lovely bistro brought Monday to a close. Needless to say, our FitBit's registered 10,000 steps, well before we were done with our day! Tomorrow ... it's the Wilhelm Tell ...

... cant understand a word of German). It was after about the 8th or 9th off-ramp that we realised "Ausfahrt" means "Exit".

We decided to take the route the back way to Engelberg as we will be using the more direct route when we make our way back to Lucerne later in the week. We drove along the edge of Lake Zurich towards a place called Rapperswill and then made our way to the very top of Lake Lucerne via Schwyze and Brennan before riding along the Lake Lucerne to the one ...

Today was another long road trip (500km) to Engelberg, Switzerland (named by the towns' founders as "The Mountain of Angels" - there are colourful statues of angels all around town). We drove through tunnels which were 15km and 17km long, they seemed to never end but when we could see daylight at the other end, we were relieved. ... wooden Chapel Bridge decorated with geraniums, we both had a real "wow" moment and it helped to melt away the frustrations of the day.

... some of the other guys convinced him it was easier (which in my opinion it is), and Adrien tried to teach him. Although Speedy seemed to have more ability for the whole skiing thing the fact that he got scared any time the mountain was any more than a gentle slope really hindered his progress, by the end of one run (about 3 hours time) Speedy was ready to kill Adrien and vise versa.
