... amp; I go for veal with porcini mushrooms & roast potatoes. Good meal but not the best or cheapest. Of course every night is finished with gelato. The air con in our room wasn't working when we arrived & it's still stinking hot after 10pm. The hotel can't fix it until 11pm so we stay out until then. After it's fixed we do our washing in our private bathroom & string our travel line across the width of it. Crash into bed after midnight exhausted from the long ...

At the top the wind is both strong and cold, but the views are magnificent. In the golden late afternoon light every vista is like a live Canaletto. Tower conquered, we head home for a short break before dinner. Our first choice of restaurant, not too far from ...

... figure out which dock to get on I heard a guy giving away complimentary trips to Murano. It was a promo thing but it was a free taxi to the island and a glass blowing display. Its Sunday and the production facility is closed so I guess this is their way of getting in on the weekend tourists. The taxi was cool, much faster then the vaporetto, and I could stand at the back to get some great pics (I hope) of the Venetian coast line.

We get to the glass production facility ...

... almost tipped over when you were on it, subsequently pouring anything in it all over the floor when you flushed. I'd rather rough it and pee in a bush at this point (it's probably more sanitary!) I think we may run out of my Kleenex wet wipes and Purell by the end of the day, let alone the trip! By the time we had to meet for dinner, we were hot, sweaty, a little frustrated at people (because they walk so slow and randomly stop in the weirdest places - like corners or doorways) ...
