After breakfast in Picardilly, we caught the Tube to Kings Cross/St Pancras then on to the Eurostar. In Paris, the metro to Montparnasse for the TGV to Rennes. Our hotel is the Balthazar in Rue Marechal Joffre, where we had stayed last year. Recommended.

Another travel day from Bordeaux to Rennes. Rennes is heading west and close to the west coast. The reason for going to Rennes is it is about an hour away from the famous Mont Saint Michel, and has a dedicated direct bus.
It was such a nice sunny day and the lovely green countryside made the time pass quickly. I arrive into Rennes about 5.30pm and head to my accommodation.

... br> So much so, every now and again, you'll be thrown a C road (like yesterday) to connect between two D roads and which means Communale - repaired at local expense by the commune. It also means ****. These are single track roads connecting small villages used by ******-up farm workers. Get the picture?

With this in mind me and Will are on one such road barrelling along, not seeing a soul for a good 20 ...
