... Liam and Isobel to bed. Mind you I'm sitting outside looking and the sun setting on the mountains. Tomorrow we are taking a huge cable car ride to a place called Mannlichen and we will get there from a town called Grindlewald, which promises to be another amazing village. It's also our last full day before we drive south to Turin on Saturday so we will try to fit in a boat trip on the lake too. Guten abend! ...

Switzerland has s population of 7.5 million with only 132,000 in the capital of Bern. Zurich actually has a population 3 times Bern at 379,000 and interestingly apparently they held a referendum recently on changing the capital and Bern won. As you can imagine by talking to locals, it is clear the rivalry between these two cities is very strong, along the lines of Boston and New York in US..... Not a lot of love lost you might say.... Would have been interesting to see a soccer ...

... settling the bill. The site has proved excellent in many respects and we would thoroughly recommend it, hoping to return again in the future. We have chatted to many friendly Brits over the past week, several stopping by to say farewell on noticing that our departure was imminent. The day ended with a fantastic sunset - the snowy mountains completely devoid of cloud by this time but glowing with a pinky tinge. Who needs a site with entertainment when you have Mother Nature's floor ...

... arrived in Murren and started waking admiring the grandeur of these mountains. When we arrived at the bike rental place, it was closed. We kept walking down to another cable car station, thinking it would take us right up where we started. That cable route was going somewhere else, so we had to walk back UP, UP, UP…
