I am so far behind with this blog. Partly, it's because we have traveled every single month during 2009. There's so much to tell & show that unless I write every week, I'm always several trips behind. The other problem is ...
Naples, Campania, Italy amboughOla Kala: simply, OK (in Greek). No time for lots of flap.....we're on the go. The Vatican Museums await us (and we can hardly wait to do more walking!). Enjoy the pictures and we'll fill you in on the adventure next time I make the time to sit and gab.
We're still having a grand time!!!!!

... 6 or 7 music stores in 1 block- one of which had guitars, lutes and other stringed instruments dating back to the late 1800's.
Also discovered that the food options in Naples are a lot better than northern Italy with a lot more meat based snacks and fried snacks available to eat whilst wandering the streets.
No wonder northern Italians are so skinny and short - their food options for decent snacks are so limited compared to the south ...
... as we depart and leave the Bay of Naples, we sail south through the Messina Straits around the toe of Italy toward the Greek Island of Mykonos. But we don't arrive there until October 1st, so that means we enjoy a relaxing day at sea! So far, the weather has been fantastic! Very warm temperatures and little to no cloud! Hope it continues! Se ya tomorrow! Ciao! Rick & Elsie!
... I wanted to see from the train. We took the Circumvenzia to Sorrento and immediately noticed the colors of the entire region explode with warmth. Where Venice was gray, drab and cold....Sorrento is bright, warm and vibrant with color. Orange and lemon trees are in full fruit.....so much so that oranges and lemons are just dropping onto the roads to waste away. We checked into our bed & breakfast, very cute, and went outside to pick a fresh lemon and ...
Sorrento, Italy toddnrachel... wallet is. I think I am a dismal actor. Down Corso Umburto through to Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, I am wandering through the old streets of Napoli. Actually all of them seem to be old streets. Piazza Dante is full of teenagers, graffiti and midday boozers. Down Via Roma into Via Toledo and I now have the Spanish Quarter to my right, with Via Toledo full of the more exclusive shops, and North Aftican men selling fake designer handbags on the footpath. The Spanish Quarter ...
