... in the extremely expensive bread eating and thus paid only $10 euro (about $15) for my gnocchi. Everyone else at the meal paid upwards of $25 euro (about $35-$37) so I must say I was quite lucky with the outcome.
After dinner we toured the Plaza Mayor and met up with other Wake Forest students on Katie, Taylor and Nikki's (another friend) program. The Plaza Mayor in Salamanca is unlike anything I have seen here in Spain so far. It was huge, more than 2 long ...

Afterwards we went back to our friends apartment for a bit to get ready to go out and watch some of the concert. We started out at our usual first bar (La Negra Flor), where I ended up with quite a few free drinks. From there we went to Salamandra, then to Little Bottles...and then a few ...

Salamanca go in the morning for some siteseeing on salamanca. Hang out in square. See Church. Look for frog. Lunch on the steps. Naps and pool for the afternoon. Sue stays with kids and Ev, Julie and Tom Listen to music on the square drinking beers. 13.50 for 4 beers, coffee, and drink. Not in Switzerland any more.

           

... on what was to be a fairly big party evening as four guests who had been there for a little while were both leaving the following day and wanted to go out with a bang.
So party evening it was. By the bar, by and in the pool, with many many drinks to be had, and a lot of crazy behaviour going down, let me just say i was surprised to wake up the following morning to discover that everyone was still accounted for and no-one was missing any ...

Just a few days prior to our trip, we were looking at slides that my mother sent me of beautiful places in the world. To my surprise, many of the places I couldn't recognize. There was one picture of tall building on a thin strip of land that I was especially curious about where it was. I didn't know that I would see that exact same picture out the window of the airplane. Day 4
We had wandered around part of the city when we arrived but it was raining, so we spent the morning of day 4 making the most of the sunshine and taking photos before the return descent.

The city is amazing, in terms of size, with 180 structures uncovered, there are many more to be unearthed. The structures are very similar to other sites in South and Central America although each has it´s own distinct ...

... in bad spanish and I learned about his family and how hard he works. He was going to have an afternoons rest and then turn back around and do the trek all over again. In the camp that night everyone was exhausted and sick of hammocks. Our guide got stoned. We got to know the honeymooning couple a bit more. They had been living between the Uk and France and had just come back to Colombia to get married ...

... admiring gorgeous plaza mayor. There was good shopping very close to the plaza; there were stores like H & M and Zara. We also visited the lovely, gothic cathedral in Salamanca. I especially liked this cathedral in Salamanca because we were able to climb stairs to the top and see breathtaking views of this wonderful Spanish city that many overlook when planning a trip to Spain.

One aspect of Salamanca I found quite wonderful was the abundance of interesting ...
