If you go to a place on anything but your feet you are taken there too fast and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside." Elizabeth von Arnim. Leaving Plymouth on Wednesday at 7 am we started the Arc Portugal rally with another 8 boats. We had a fair wind, a pleasant force 3 and a beautiful morning. Early afternoon the wind started to drop and of course the boys put up the gennaker. Phil's cottage pie went down very well indeed. Duncan put his fishing lines in and out for the whole trip but we were rather concerned about catching any fish that could swim at 8 to 10 knots!

That first night we had ...
