... picked up so we are literally rocking and rolling back and forth. Rather eerie when you can't see outside anymore. I guess they have done this trip numerous times. Time to go and find something to eat I think. OMG. Never take the fast jet from Santorini to Athens. Nearly eight hours later we finally arrived! What a novel experience it is on a big cruise liner. It was a 45 min taxi drive to the port and then you are processed on board. Our ship is quiet large although not as large as others we have seen. There are about 1500 passengers on board and 700 crew. Our first experience of being on the boat was great. How wonderful cruising out of Athens port and into open sea and I was surprised how quickly you move. Its so lovely ...

Long day but got to see a lot which was great. After showers we headed out to find local restaurant which we did then got caught in huge downpour so back to hotel to dry out.

... to Piraeus takes about 5 hours and the flight is 40 is a little bit more money but it will be nice to not have such a long travel day.  On Saturday we will now have a full day in Athens to go visit the Acropolis and Parthenon which we didn't get to see that first day due to the civic holiday!   On Sunday we fly home.  I can't believe how fast this trip went by, but it has truly been an amazing experience!  We are trying to savour ...
