    Naxos

... that were really remote. Then at lunch they bought out the wine and it all went downhill from there. We ended up meeting this couple from Brighton uni who were really fun and getting a bit rowdy with our noodles. Oh and I learnt to jump and dive off the boat woo. The open air cinema was pretty cool. We saw the terminator which was lol, I wouldn't recommend but it was a cool thing to do. They had little stone tables and the chairs were cute so yeah it was nice. All the food has been ...

    The final bit

... sat outside on the bow of the boat, the Greek Waters Pilot open in front of me. One option was to clean the filter as G had proposed and to go to Parikia hoping that we would get there with a working engine. Yet the chance that the engine would only work temporarily seemed too large and approaching Parikia without an engine (and possibly no wind) was too risky: a current towards the rocks in front of the bay had caused many ships to sink in the past, including the ...

We traversed north, tacking from 330 to 40 deg a few times and after a few hours reached a bay at the final reach of the Naxos side. ... in style. Each house is reached via a flight of narrow, straight steps, parallel to the road, whilst the space underneath these steps was traditionally kept for storage but is now often a shop. It has a very pleasant waterfront with a few beaches - very basic beaches! There are churches everywhere and most are tiny - more like shrines than churches - and most of them were closed.

We used the map the hotel provided and ...

    Vueling Airline debacle

On May 9th we arrived at the very small Mykonos airport (yes, even by Tasmanian standards), ready for our flight to Rome and then connecting from Rome to split, Croatia. One of the airport staff asked where we were travelling, and seemed a bit muddled mentioning that he thought our flight had been cancelled, then saying it wasn't. Chris and I looked at each other and laughed. Imagine him joking our flight was cancelled. Little did ...
