... fancy stores around San Marco. We went up and crossed at the academmia bridge, and aaah... Back on our side of the canal. I had also looked at renting an apartment closer to San Marco, but I am so so happy I chose the one over in dorsoduro! It was almost 4 now, and the Italy world cup game was starting at 6. ... the shuttle was full. After a short while another turned up and we got to our digs. It was a big day, on the road from 9 to 5. We unpacked and went for a walk along the waterfront. It I s a great location as we are on the opposite side of the La Guidecca Canal, so we look directly at Venice. ... side street the shop was on. And as we got closer the sound of talking, laughing and happiness echoed and the smell of beautiful pasta filled our noses. The place was packed and the staff were so nice!! The pasta tasted great and ten times better than the meals in Rome! For some reason lots of the stores had closed early! ... right train that stopped at our hotel and headed to our rooms. After distributing luggage to the proper rooms, I decided to grab a shower and discovered a bathroom so big that eight of our ship bathrooms could fit inside it! It was almost as big as our sleep area. We had gotten so used to cramped quarters that the most exciting thing about our hotel was how huge the bathroom was. An added bonus was this shower didn't move!
