Awake at 0600 dressed, breakfast & left at 0830 for our morning trip to Salzburg. And sunshine as we leave Innsbruck. As we leave onto motorway there is quite a blockage on the oncoming side ( fortunately ) trucks ++ probably due to a religious holiday tomorrow. Trucks are not permitted on highway on weekends or public holidays. We arrived in Salzburg 10am after a short toilet stop just before. As we were too early to check into our hotel we met a ...

We finish the last night with a fantastic dinner at Restaurant Barenwirt. These guys are well drilled when it comes to hospitality. They have been open continuously since 1626. Austrian food has been fabulous so we are back on track with our growing investment, our waist line.

Everyone very excited by free buffet breakfast, and got very good value from it too! Why not have cake for breakfast if it's been offered? In foyer with minutes to spare before our ...

... to the station for our return trip to Innsbruck we happened upon a shoe shop and as the shop owner was so helpful three of us bought a pair of shoes each!!! He must have been clapping his hands together with glee when we walked out of the shop.

The afternoon trip was in the opposite direction to Seefeld. Back on the train we hopped and visited Hall, another gem of a find, only 8 minutes from Innsbruck. This was another medieval town with very ...

... pay our respects to those who lost their lives at the hands of the Nazi regime. A cold, dark, dirty and terrible place made us all realise just how lucky we are that we didn't have to try and survive in these disease ridden conditions. The bullet holes in the cement walls and scratch marks in the gas chambers will be something I'll never forget. From there we continued forward to Prague, (the hidden city.) Until then, ...
