There were three other tables occupied when we arrived, and the waitress was overwhelmed with our arrival (and the subsequent arrival of 3 other smaller groups). Michael, Ellen and I headed down to a nearby supermarket for supplies and something for dinner. We've eaten. ...

... see a butchers shop or general store. We pass through the narrowest alleyway and find ourselves outside the cathedral. We went inside and lit a candle for everyone.

We go back to the dukes palace and make our way back to the square where our day started, but what a difference a couple of hours have made, the sun is glorious and it is warm and it feels a bit Mediterranean which we are grateful for. The long queue to get in to town is equalled by the ...

... through beech, oak and chestnut woods made it more pleasant. We came across the Tower of Orlando, the only remains of "Old Paciano", destroyed during one of the numerous wars in the middle of the 11th century. Then there was a tumbledown house with a glorious view which has been up for sale for nearly 30 years (at least). The wildflowers on the roadside were amazing. Then we came across a load of bees swarming around their hive in a tree - we could ...
