... at a little bar/restaurant and had a big salad for lunch ... The menu said it was going to come with lots of stuff, including tuna and boiled egg, but for whatever reason those two ingredients were missing. The waitresses looked harried, so I decided not to bother them about it since the salad was still quite good. This just meant that I'd have room for a gelato later. Priorities. Valletta looks very impressive from the sea - the city sits high on huge cliffs, its buildings made of sandstone, a shade darker than our Sydney variety. It was a 20 minute walk to our ...

Getting to this island was more difficult than anticipated. We were sitting patiently for the bus when a man kindly indicated in Italian the route was closed. Eventually with delay we made it to the plaza. The water taxi took about 90 minutes to cover the short distance to Lido as there were many stops along the way. The beach was relatively quiet and we relax in the sun. There are small bits of plastic everywhere and the ...

... Our plan was to eat along the waterfront, but the restaurants were either too pricey or didn't appeal to us. We started to make our way back towards the hotel and found a restaurant along the way. Once dinner was finished, Amanda wanted one last taste of that black cherry gelato as it would be our last chance before we left for home. We returned to the gelato shop in St. Mark's square only to find it closed for the night. I think Amanda might have actually shed ...
