... s takes the driver 1 hour to drop us all off & he goes around & around the city we are so confused. One of the young girls actually picked up from a Map he was going in opposite direction to her hotel. We finally get dropped off near Hotel Fellini about a street away & with some difficulty & help from an Italian waiter we find the hotel. ... over to the island of Burano, which specializes in lace. This time I only bought an inexpensive lace scarf. Both Murano and Burano were less crowded than Venice and were delighful places to wander. Burano is famous for its brightly colored buildings, and it also had more greenery and open spaces, so it was very pleasant. Didn't hurt that we had sunshine and nearly seventy degrees.

... and I had raspberry and hazelnut. I have to be honest, the gelato on Corydon is pretty darn close to the same! We headed straight from gelato to St. Mark's Basilica and walked around. This is the church they erected to hold the stolen body of St. Mark who is their patron saint. He is depicted everywhere by the winged lion holding the gospel of Mark.
