Sandra and Peter were off again today to meet up with some of Peter's friends. This morning Andrew and I went out shopping. I don't know how these places make a living....every shop has the same same......Murano glass in every imaginable object, masks, t shirts, key rings.......on and on it goes! I'd had enough after 15 minutes!! We dropped our loot back off at the apartment and Andrew got to choose where he wanted to go. He suggested a walk back through S. Croce sestiere....he ...

Four of my roommates and three of our other close girl friends decided to plan a last minute trip to Venice this past weekend! It was a wonderful adventure with lots of exploring. There were ZERO cars in Venice, as it is a walking city with water buses. Venice is made up of about six islands, and we had to by bus tickets for the weekend, and we would take water buses everywhere, it was wonderful!

We drove north from Postonja to take some mental leave in Lake Bled. Lake Bled snuggles in just under the Austrian border. It is a beautiful location and centres around a caldera. The volcanic soil guarantees lush vegetation and the caldera hosts a lake. In ...

... would have been quite cryptic.
      - "Vaporetto" passes get you public transportation all over the Venice area (boat and bus).
      - The "embarcadero" is the point of embarkment for boats.
      - Lido station is Santa Maria Elisabetta station.
      - The bus stops at every 500 meters. Which stop were we to take? None of the stops are named... - We asked for Malamocco town center to passengers who ...

just a quick update for all of you out there thinking how easy this travel lark is. In the past month I have travelled a total of over 80 hours in cars, trains and buses, this does not include time at the station waiting/transfers or waiting time to get picked up hitch hiking, if I add that on I'm sure it would double easily: -
      Bus - 34 hours
      Train - 22:45 hours
      Hitch hiking - 21:30 hours - 1520 km - in 11 different cars, boo-yeah!
      Planes - 2 hours
