We did however have a five hour stopover in Denmark so I ushered Rach into her 7th continent and proceeded to explore as much as we could in the time we had. As I randomly made my way through the gardens turning left and right when I felt like it I came to a wide open space with no trees except for the hedges in a big circle around a huge bed of roses of every colour.       ... so there are no pictures to show. The Catacombs of St. Stephen's is basically a cemetery. The "old" part houses the caskets of all of the Bishops and Cardinals from Vienna and has a room directly under the main alter that holds the caskets of the royal family members. There are also "Urns" that hold the internal organs of many royalty and other important people. Apparently the organs were removed ...

      ... and into your skin. It makes our walk through the Nachstmark, the famed street market of food and trinkets, a bit of an ordeal. We end up at Karlsplatz to see the gloriously domed Karlskirke, but give up and cross the street into the State Opera House’s café, solely for the chance to warm up, but they serve a goulash soup so we grab a bowl of it and it warms the very cockles of our souls.
