Tihany is a small peninsula on the northern side of Lake Balaton, it was a 45min bus ride from Balatonfured... The town centre was extremely provincial, with the exception of some very touristy/souvenir shops there was very little else there...<br><br>We ...

... a mess in my (our) heads as well. Also little chores need doing on the van. In between, swimming, chilling and getting into the moment. Each of us for our own reasons.<br><br>One big thing that annoys us both is the fact that the fridge is not working! On electricity it does nothing (well the light is swithed on, but that&#8217;s it). On gas it gets a bit cold, but nothing good enough to save the cheese inside! Maybe this teaches us something ...

(70 miles)<br>Today we got off to a slow start. It was cold and rainy. Our muscles weren't really working. We visited Kethzley the town and found ourselves eating pizza in a warm restaurant where they had internet maybe even before noon. <br><br>Once we got motivated we followed a bike path part way around lake balaton. ... it did feel great on my aching muscles. Then back to site to collect dry washing and to the park to blog. Hungary has been a cultural shock and I'm still adjusting. Routes and accomodation are difficult to plan but to a paucity of bridges and ferries. I can see I might have to do more rough camping. On the other hand I should be in Serbia early next week provided I remember to get food etc.

I must say that I was somewhat unimpressed by Lake Balaton, although the sight of our elderly, cynical program director stripping down to a speedo for a quick dip was something I won't soon forget. Balaton has a reputation as a huge destination for Hungarians but when we were there the weather was less than ideal and it was pretty much deserted. I think most of the people who voted for the lake regretted their decision.

... slecht, maar ook niet geweldig. We hebben geen zin om nog een stadje te bekijken dus gaan we snel weer verder. Kwart over twee rijden we K. binnen. We moeten richting centrum. Op weg daar naar toe ziet T een grote tankauto water over de weg pompen dat kennelijk uit een soort binnenplaats komt waar een paar mannen tot ver over hun knieën in het water staan.
