    Sunny Switzerland - a Hikers Paradise

    ... towards the Eastern Alps. They were married in the Roseg valley with the Bernina Range in the background. The sun shone on the glaciers as we made our way along the trail. After lunch at the Hotel Roseg Gletschier (which specializes in desserts!) and a rest in the sun we continued the hike to the site of their wedding. It was a perfect day and a magical place. Max had fun crawling around while we soaked in the beauty around us.

    Quick entry to reflect a lunch stop in Liechtenstein. This tiny country is most famous for selling postage stamps, and the fact that almost every European tour operator includes a few minutes here so they can boast of another country visited. Now that I think about it, maybe that 's what we did :-)

    ... Ricken Pass with a wonderful panoramic view of the Alps to reach Toggenburg with it's rolling green landscape. We then travelled on to Vaduz, the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the 3rd smallest principality in all of Europe, smallest being Monaco then San Marino.     ... dinner tonight. We once again had a heavy meal last night. It was good but we just aren't used to eating so much meat and potatoes. Prices in Switzerland are amazingly high. It's almost an insult. They certainly could improve their tourism if they lowered their prices. A normal entree of chicken, potatoes, and veggies is about $35 dollars. That is without salad or soup or any additional things. Let alone a glass ...
