... on board. Just before docking in Mallorca, we found out that the ban on bringing alcohol applies only to spirits so we stocked up. Price difference – a bottle of Spanish red we paid $39 for last night, we bought duty free for $9 in Mallorca. This will help the budget significantly.
Dinner was smart casual – again we joined some others for dinner and after dinner we headed for the theatre where we saw ...
And at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.
St Elm, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain sharkita... until Liam, a deckhand, poked up his head. He said he was sitting there the whole time, but I suspect he had fallen asleep since I had called out a few times when I first arrived.
After he lowered the passarelle and I was able to board, I jumped in the shower to wash off all the smoke and sweat of the night and was soon in bad.
The next day I went with a few of the girls to explore more of the town and to browse some of the shops. They ...
We arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourneyThe night before all of the guests, Stee and I went to a dance club in Ibiza. We didn't arrive back onboard until close to 7 AM. We then began our cruise to Mallorca, the island just north of Ibiza. The crew had food for those who were hungry, but most of us went straight to bed.
Just after noon, around five hours later, we arrived off the coast of the playa ex pregons gran, a nudist beach just a few ...
... speak no English. We have a great dinner and some nice (and inexpensive) wine. The owners are from Argentina so I discuss my trip to South America with them.
We head out to the main bar/club street. My back is killing me. Every step is painful but I try to put it out of my mind. The area along the harbor has a good café crowd but the bars are empty. We finally go into one at 12. Within 30 minutes there is a good crowd. Almost all ...
... afternoon at the beach back in Playa de Palma. It is so nice to have warm weather with sun. Quite a contrast from Scandinavia. This is an area full of German tourists. Mostly Spring break atmosphere. Apparently it is dominated by package deals. I have seen very few other nationalities here. As an indication, at the airport, Air Berlin dominated the airlines (even though this is Spain it is not Iberia or SpanAir).
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller... SpanAir, an airline that I have no familiarity. I was able to get a $100 fair from Scandinavia to Spain during peak vacation season. The flight is fine but they charge for everything, sodas and even water. While on the flight, my PC crashed. On the reboot it asked for bootable media. Yikes! A little panic but on the next reboot, it started up fine. I am backing up photos every few days but my PC has been key for my communication, my blog, photos, info collecting … Later in ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller...
i visit spain so often but I had my first trip there at the tender age of about 8 months! haha!
needless to say I can't remember that particular trip but the subsequent ones really hit the spot with me!
I love Majorca because it has something for everybody. Mad nightlife, beautiful beaches and scenery, lovely people and not as "high rise" as main land Spain.
