... lovely views of the harbor, a Greek fellow waved from down below – it was Giannis, our skipper. We had searched for him on the ferry, and did remember seeing him, but he didn't look anything like his profile picture. He came up to the office and met us.
Finally the home office was ready for us. All of our papers were in order. The only surprise was that instead of leaving a damage deposit ...
Delos is an incredibly interesting place. The entire island is a collection of ruins where no one is allowed to stay on the island overnight so everyone who visits are day trippers—most of whom are staying in Mykonos. It was an excellent day for exploring ruins at just over 60F degrees it was cool and pleasant. There is a lot to explore on the island so be sure to leave enough time to see it all.
There are no complete building standing, but ...
It’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.
This is ...
... in that item.
Apparently, there were only a few taxi's on the island and one wonders why anyone would take one when two large cruise ships were in town. You see, not only was our ship, the Ruby Princess, carrying 3,100 passengers in port but the Celebrity cruise ship was also in port. There were so many people around the port area that taxi's virtually couldn't move more than a few inches a minute. Hope ...
... there.
There are little shops, tavernas, and restaurants all over the place.
We walked through the town and then to the other side and hit a beach
for an hour and change, then headed back. There are some 16th
century windmills that supposedly still operate, but weren't at the
time. We had some 'houmous' and pita bread back in town, they gave us
two complementary shots of 'Ouza' which I took a sip of. Actually ...
Delos (a deserted archaeological site island just half an hour from Mykonos) Arrived this morning to very high winds and seas, and as we were to have tendered ashore - well those who were going to were - decision was made too rough and dangerous. Same applied for Mykonos, so another half days cruising to Milos.
Mykonos, Greece bucksbeach... 10 euros is great!!! although im beginning to get sick of all the bread, thats all i seem to eat. anyway, as i was saying, i caught the bus into town to find out what would be a nice little area to head for (as the island is quite big) and i went into a little travel agency and they suggested a beach called Psarou, which was meant to be very cosmopolitan - so i caught a bus down to check it out. Buses here are very regular, generally every 1/2 hour, and cost 1.40euro ...

Mykonos, Greece lindalu... wanting to stay longer. But the visit was well worth it, as the site itself is very extensive with a tremendous amount of ruins to take in. Mayu got a wee bit bored while we there, but she perked up when we climbed to the top of the island for a beautiful view out to the surrounding islands. Tonight's our last night in the islands as we return to Athens by ferry at 12:45 tomorrow. It's actually very well-timed though: after two days of ...
Mykonos, Greece xeriusHow on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
