St. Anton am Arlberg, Austrian Alps, Austria snosurfTravel to Austria from Perth via Tokyo, Milan and Innsbruck is not recommended. To describe this route as a 'milk-run' would be an understatement of epic proportions. I calculated the total travel time to be somewhere in the vicinity of 30hrs (not including time spent in transit) so you can probably understand our relief when we arrived at our final destination in the town of St Anton, Austria.

... Trey and I returned to the top again intent on blasting down the mountain at top speed. We both made it down without using the brakes at all in 5 minutes and some-odd seconds. We both had a blast. Trey video recorded his first descent and he intends on publishing on youtube when we return home.
Imst, Austrian Alps, Austria brian796 During our stay we got to know several people from various places including Barbara and Jurjen from Netherland and another cool couple from Finland. Of course, today it took us forever to pack up and leave the campsite as everyone wanted to say goodbye and chat some more. No big deal as we had made some great new friends.
Once we were able to get underway, we started our trek towards Passo Di ...
... The setting is quite serene as we are at the base of numerous beautiful mountains and ski resorts in a home that Franz has lived in his entire life (and still shares with a sister and his mother who live in the floors below). His family has lived in the area for many generations and he had many fascinating stories to tell. We spent most of our time relaxing, hiking and enjoying nature. Yesterday morning we awoke early for a wonderful breakfast and a ...

I used to work in St Anton quite a while back so it's great coming back here each year and seeing a few old friends who've kept doing ski season after ski season.
No eks siis sai ühises riietusruumis r ...
Ischgl, Austrian Alps, Austria pille... I am still tired! I didn’t want to drag my butt out of bed or out of the shower, once I got in. This jet lag really has me whupped. Finally, we struggled down to breakfast around 7:30 am. Breakfast was pretty much the same here as we had in Austria...cold cuts, cheeses, rolls, jams, breads, yogurt, and cereal. After breakfast, we went back up to the room to get ready for our walk and while we were up there, we could hear the church bells ringing through the valley ...
