... the cathedral we visited the museum and then the grand arch (which was actually a huge shopping arcade). I can say huge with some satisfaction since there were binoculars set into the marbled floor at several intervals so that you could better look down the corridors of wealth and power. All the big names were here: Versace, Prado, Louis Vuitton..etc. For ***** and giggles we went into each of the above mentioned shops - way out of my price range - but its nice to ...

... in the town square, on the sides of roads and under hotels. All very charming.
After a morning coffee, we headed back to the hotel for lunch and a siesta. Later that afternoon we went for a walk about the streets near our hotel, and then ate a good Italian meal at a local restaurant. Off to Milan tomorrow and then Verona. Liking Italy more and ...

I was happy for Nathan and Tilly as well that they could experience what cycling in Italy should be like, instead of the busy, flat, sparse roads around Vighignolo we enjoyed sparkling, clear water and spectacular mountains. After the ride, we accepted the water's invitation and dove into the fresh, cool waters of Lago Maggiore. We swam along the shore line (to avoid the multitude of boats) and ...

... this serves as my own travel journal as well as a blog, I am invested in making it work. Have fun reading about Milan, which is truly an under-represented city as far as tourism is concerned. But thanks to our absolutely wonderful tour guide--Alice Salvagnin--and her own business Milan Private Tours, the tide is changing. She is a one woman dynamo with such pride in her city, that she is bound and determined to showcase ...

... a lovely meal. A delicious risotto, then schnitzel, potatoes, bread, fruit, chocolate, they kept on offering more and more food which was all very good. It was definitely nice to have a home cooked meal after my diet for the last two months. A bit after dinner I joined Eleanora and some of her friends for some drinks, which was fun though Eleanora had to do quite a bit of translating for me as some of her friends didn't want to speak ...
