... said to the Bishop, there is no rest for the wicked as we ventured out to Sydney's domestic terminal for our flight back to Melbourne. Unfortunately for Trace & I this signalled there near end of our quick but eventful trip home. The final couple of days would once again be spent with close friends in their newly and beautifully renovated home. Once again your generosity was greatly appreciated by Trace & I. Wow those 14 days flew by so very quickly! We ...

Today we said goodbye to Trex. For over 4600 miles she put up with us. We only nearly died once. We only drove the side into a hedge once. We killed approximately 3.85 million bugs We filled up with gas a ridiculous number of times. We fixed the windscreen wiper 8 times, twice in the rain. We fixed the sat nav a crazy number of times. We learned to love that van. ••• This morning we woke up early - God it was lovely to get ...

Stopped off in some no name place for Carl's Jr for breakfast, then pushed on the rest of the way. The infrastructure of all these roads is amazing. So many in such good quality, and so long and starlight. Arizona was annoying, 50 odd miles and saw maybe 10 other cars, about two corners, and a 55 mile an hour speed limit. Ridiculous. ...

We woke up early again as we had tickets to Alcatraz at 9.10am. Hit the road after a quick breakfast into glorious sunshine again - we had been blessed with the weather. Drove into San Francisco and made our way to Pier 33, where the boat trip boards for the short trip across to Alcatraz Island. The boat trip was uneventful, providing spectacular views of Alcatraz itself and the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. After a ...
