... the sea. I'm going to be disappointed with the views when I get back to coffee-ing in Lytham. Then moved the car - it was busy when we arrived, and we thought we'd left the car in a decent spot, but when we came back, it just might have been a towaway zone. If so, we were lucky so thanks to whoever or whatever was looking out for us. Moved it to a proper car park and went to the beach. ... to the new town. A nice sandy beach, but full of sun beds etc even now. I would hate to be here in the main season. Not really much to write about, but managed to buy a beach towel (bright pink which I will leave with you Pam) and have lunch in a pretty restaurant overlooking the causeway and old town.

... but made tolerable by the fast new road and we were in Burgas after a cloudy, rainy two and a half hours.

I guess the the weather did Burgas no favours, but the beach was long and sandy and the gardens along the seafront made for a pleasant stroll to the pedestrianised main street. ... I went beachcombing but didn't see much apart from purple and white mussel shells.

From the beach we wandered back to the Old Town, where we were due to catch the 17.30 bus back to Burgas. We had a little bit of time to kill until then, so we walked over to a shop with an ice cream cabinet outside the front with jars of fig jam on top. Dave almost bought a jar but then backed out. An ice cream kept me going until the bus arrived.
