Another circular walk today, up the coast to La Isleta del Moro, a fishing village that still maintains traditional fishing methods. It was inland to the town of Rodalquilar. Up until 1966, gold was mined here and we walked up past the now derelict gold mine. The walk took us through a large mining area evident by the occasional derelict buildings and tunnels going into the rock with signs warning of the danger of entering the mine.

... the cycle route we had done on Friday. This took us in and out of lots of small coves - all very up and down. The scenery is volcanic with cacti, prickly pear trees, thyme and palmettos. We stopped for lunch at one of the small bays we passed called Monsul beach, with a rock known as La Peineta on the left and corniced shaped cliff on the right. Apparently, this beach has been the scene for numerous cinematic productions including "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”.
