... there were no clouds up there so we had this incredible view of Siberia. It was just a vast, unending landscape of mountains, snow, and ice, apparently untouched by any sign of human existence. Miles and miles and miles of wasteland. Magnificent desolation. It was incredibly awesome. Despite being so far from civilization, we saw another jet going in the opposite direction. It had a red tail, but that's about all we could determine. Polar ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. dyer0930... pumpkin lattes, just like at Starbucks", which really wasn't the case. Basically, after making the wrong order a couple of times we got pumpkin lattes, complete with real pumpkin inside. Ah, they were ok, but definitely not what we expected. We got some pictures, enjoyed the view, and then went to wait for a taxi to come up that we could snag back down. We decided to go back to Itaewon for dinner and had a mediocre meal at a ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. heatherann... with a local catching me looking at a map, and telling me to change my planned route and instead take a more roundabout route to the top. All in Korean of course! If there's anything I've learned from my travels, it's to listen to the locals, so I took his advice and made for a longer but more gradual ascent. It was good advice too, as I passed through a maple leaf forest, by an ancient fortress gate, rushing streams and beautiful ...
Bukhansan National Park, Seoul, Korea Rep. will... lot more with Ania and some Koreans. We soon caught up with a friend of Min's, Bona, and then spent about half an hour checking out a few of the stalls. I'd seen plenty of places like this on my travels around Asia, but it was the first time for Ania. Not surprisingly, she suddenly lost her appetite and became more interested in looking at what she could buy.
The vegetarian restaurant Min found for us was just what I had been ...
... off by copious amounts of local beer and Korean friends bringing cream cake to the resturant (topped with "fruit" including cherry tomatoes - which rightly are considered fruit here and therefore adorn cream cakes?!) and the cake was eaten with chopsticks, something which I did not know was possibly until I tried it! All in all a great start to my time in Seoul and them off to bed for a longed for sleep...
Seoul, Korea Rep. snakey... youtube. I usually don't watch movies online, but I don't feel as if I'm stealing since I was an extra in the movie (but I don't think you can see me in it).
But then he went through my books and such. Asking me questions. Personal questions (because they were psychology books and such). Once again, no biggee for me. But they were rather private books and such. So, I kinda felt a little as if my privacy was ...
... Vancouver. As we sipped our drinks and chatted with Katrina and her friend, Lu said to me to always watch the drummer. That night as I did is was impressed by him and his occasional drum stick flip. Last night again I was mesmerized by the drummer of Sighborg. He had on a glow in the dark mask and often the lights were out and all you could see was this glowing face bobbing to the beat of his drums. Nosaj Thing also put on a great show in the intimate club called DRUG ...
Uijeongbu, Korea Rep. morpheous... salad and some yellowish cake. I had planned on a picture of all my meals but I forgot. So I took a picture of the remainder. LOL couple of glasses of wine, coffee and I am satisfied. Now I have to pee. LOL. It's 2:38am. Getting sleepy now. Skymap says we are over Manitoba at 32000 feet. And we are 5969 miles to Seoul. Actually over northern Manitoba. Let me reach to the window and wave to Daryl and Stacy in Thompson. Hi guys. 4:40 am. Skymap ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. ksuter... in my t-shirt and jeans and Greg in a slightly better getup found James' room with some familiar faces inside. We swilled some drink and then went to the hotel bar called JJ's. The girls had kicks rubbing shoulders with some rich men and there was no shortage of hot women too. That's me thinking that women need providers and men need attractive fertile women, a twist of our evolutionary needs. We drank one beer. I say one ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. morpheous... BBQ (including duck and beef with lots of veggies and bottomless salads and sides), Japanese (our favorite!), Mexican, and McDonald's (we know...lame but a Big Mac was calling Andrew's name). We even had giant crab at Jeff and Michelle's one night. We brought some pesto from India and had pesto pasta, salad, bread, and giant crab. Truly this was a feast we could not even get in ...
