    ... in Florence, then Venice then Rome.. We will head to our hotel and drop off luggage then take train to Florence for half a day. On the high speed train it takes about 40 min... then we will come back later in the evening and then Sat morning take the train to Venice ( about 1.5 hrs)... We have a gondola ride booked for 3 pm Saturday....
    Well short and sweet today!!

    ... head into town to have lunch. ( about a 3 min drive).. Pizza!!! Not Ev... as you know he only eats plain pasta with butter.. Apparently his meal of choice while in Italy was plain pasta with butter and salt and french fires!! He has that sentence down pat in Italian!!
    Cory, mom and I walked around bit until the kids were done, had a stop at the Gelato cafe, met some other friends and then back to the apartment for a rest.. Cory off to Urbino.

    ... regarded them as nothing more than nice, old paintings. The entire excursion took me about two hours, as I spent a fair amount of time in one of the museums looking at the antiquated jewelry and the dusty, religious artifacts, made up of gold and silver.



    At dinner I made a point to order the typical red wine of the region -- a bold Sangiovese. It was smooth and fruity, and not as harsh as the Chianti ...
