... just perfectly. And the smell of the fresh basil as you bit into that topped it all off. Not to mention that it looked so colorful it was appealing to look at! We could have eaten a couple of the pastries without any problem but decided to show some restraint. Looking at the pictures now and writing about it, I’m getting hungry and would go back to that market if we knew that vendor would be there!

... sun to come out from behind the mountains and warm up the valley. I wasn't quite sure what to expect on this ride after my epic ride up Telegraph and Galibier. I was definitely nervous about running out of steam so I had made sure to carbo-load the previous night and ate a hearty breakfast this morning. ... was going to do the epic Alpe d’Huez in the rain, we had a relaxing morning and decided to make pancakes. Not having any measuring tools and tripling the recipe, we kind of winged it with the proportions which resulted in a sort of crêpe/pancake cross. Since it was pouring out, we had to dash between awnings as we prepared the pancakes. They were very tasty and we had a huge fruit salad which was also delicious.
