Botin, the tourist trap snared us

I have to admit, we fell for it. The tourist trap. High prices, poor return.

So the trap is called Botin. A restaurant near Plaza Mayor which according to the Guiness Book of Records is the oldest restaurant in the world. The reviews for this place on the whole were kind although there were enough warnings to give this place a miss. We thought, what the hell, lets try it. ...

A breakfast explosion and a regal experience

... few miles by this point.

It's mid-afternoon by now and with a blazing ball of fire above us it seems daft not to retire to the rooftop pool of the Emperador, which is the entire reason we're staying there. Mix that with long walks with Negra and occasionally venturing into Madrid we loved our time with Juan and Lula. ...

It will be another 4 or 5 hours before we arrive home and we will have been travelling for nearly 24 hours since we left the apartment in Barra.

This has been an epic journey for us, it is not the holiday we planned but has far exceeded any expectations we could have set for ourselves.
