First Trip to Austria, so we had to go twice in one week! What we noticed: extremely beautiful landscape - still a part of the alps, so snow and beautiful mountain streams everywhere, everything is cheaper than Switzerland, people actually wear Dirndls (think female lederhosen dresses), the food is much better, and you can smoke everywhere - yucky!

After our picnic lunch we go round a museum about Ludwig's life, where we are actually able to take photos. Here is his death mask, various items of furniture and wall hangings that were rejected by Ludwig or never used, and plans for what the building would have ...

The walkway along the river brought us directly to the Old Town (Alstadt). The main street (Getreidgasse) held many different shops ...

... both Linderhof and Neuschwanstein put together. Ludwig had a bit of an obsession with Louis XIV and XV of France and literally made a copy of several rooms in Versailles (including the hall of mirrors).

Next, we said goodbye to our car! It took us about 90 more minutes to get from Prien am Chiemsee to the Munich Airport. We dropped off our car with Avis and grabbed the S-Bahn into the city. Have I ...

Toured Mozart's residence which was another free entry with the Salzburg Card.

Marlene and I went shopping, and saw a Xmas store with multi, multi dozens of decorated eggs...crazy. And the guys went to the catacombs.

€37 for a bus tour through lakes and mountains to the Sound of Music locations.

At the end of the tour Glenn got up ...
