... which is sad. Driving into Malaga the navigator got lost, again. But we made it in the end to a very standard hotel without any character or atmosphere, we were both disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it is nice, pool, robe slippers etc., but we have been staying in some amazing places and a normal hotel is a bit......blah. Madrid is a city of beautiful parks, lovely ...

... day to Granada. Instead we reached this lovely town of 30 churches, a lovely neo classical hotel and top food. This has instantly reinforced our love of Spain.

This would be worth a few days sty to explore and relax. Once again the warm evening was perfect for outdoor dining below the backdrop of a floodlit church and old city ...

... birthday! Driving to Marbella was very interesting, high in the mountains rain and fog but in the valleys, sunshine. Curving, winding roads, not unlike Italy! When we reached Marbella, 28 km. away it became sunny. Marbella in the '70's was known for crooks and drug dealers, and in the '80's for the Russian and Italian Mafia bosses who all controlled their empires from gorgeous villas and yachts, Then there was a corrupt mayor, then the Spanish Police ...
