... a Saturday was quite amazing. This continued through the whole city and the roads were not jam packed with cars making the ambience much better.
There are plenty of the usual shopping areas but parks, green spaces and riverside quays abound. We decided to take the boat trip (approx 70 mins) which takes you round the old city, up to the area of the European Parliament and Court of Human Rights (how we love them ...

As we walked back to where we started a large crowd had formed and two guys were serving beer from a barrel ...

... so French-y, and I liked looking at the pastries in particular. There's this part of the city that's called Petite-France, originally slaughter houses & tanning-houses. Hence the roofs were really big so as to increase the surface area to dry the skins. Walked around for a bit then had lunch by the canals which was pretty ...

... meal with a German family, ANNYA RIEDER, and her daughter SELINE, A 18 year old. They showed us their three bedroom flat, over 100 years old, and they had a wonderful dinner prepared for us of sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, bratwurst and meatballs and salad. This was very enjoyable to experience a German family and how they live. We left about 9 pm for the boat.
