    ... the counter we could tell straight away from their twang and their attitude that they were Aussies. We ended up having a great old chat with them on our return trip back down on the cog wheel train - lamenting the "if only we'd taken the cable car up option" - oh well - was not to be.     I was trying to reach Lucern, but didn't expect the quantity of hills I had first along the lakes past Interlaken, then the crazy climb over the Brünig pass. Plus it rained heavily in the morning.

    Interlaken was beautiful, but super touristy. My favorite part of the day was the rainy morning along the lakes and the awesome views on the descent to Lungern.

    ... knew this place would be special. (We later found out that this woman was the owner and still enjoys working in her restaurant and greeting the many visitors from around the world.) One of the main reasons why the Old Swiss House still maintains its popularity, is because of its Weinerschnitzel prepared tableside. The waiter told us that they make 5,300 a month!
