Last Full Day in Andorra

... having a beer and watching a man try to dig his van out of the snow. To my knowledge his van is to this moment where it was when I left the bar.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to post some pictures of Canillo when it's snowy and the sun comes out. Don't have too many, but figured it was worth a post.

The Two Faces of Andorra

... at 7:30am. However upon arriving at l'Hospitalet all my fears were put to rest.

It's misleading that they call l'Hospitalet a train station, it would be more correct if they called it a gravel lot with vending machines. As I filed into the line to get off the train, eager to find the bus, I grew frustrated that the line wasn't moving faster. When my turn finally came to get off the train I noticed that the line continued straight from the train to ...

... an ever changing display. So faint, it made me blink to make sure I was focused properly.

Without a view, the triumph was short lived and we ate a soggy lunch in a drippy shelter. I highly recommend eating breakfast before attempting a climb of that sort in the future.

The long descent into Foix that I had been anticipating as a great reward for the climb was now dreaded a bit. Cold and wet, wind-chill and ...

Change of Plans?

... What it does mean, we're not quite sure of yet. Still dealing with the shock and going over a few different options. All while kicking myself for not realizing this sooner. Only one thing is for certain - I'm not going to let this spoil our trip, and we're going to have to get cycling! (o.k., two things).

Tales from the Pit

... br>The family here have 2 beautiful dogs of the breed Hovawart. Sumba the male is this faithful companion who comes to visit us in the mornings in the loft and ‘talks’ about his dreams to you. But poor Sumba’s girlfriend was in heat, so they had to be kept apart. Of course, that just exasperated the problem and he cried outside the windows and doors for her day and night.

Upstairs there is a little balcony so Gia (the ...

... in for a picnic lunch. This was nice, we had packed well and everything had survived the journey, even the rice cakes! Joel and I kept ourselves amused by regularly telling Mum/Des that the car going by was the caravane starting, she would jump up, where where? Thankfully before long it really was coming and we moved down to the road side; Mum/Des had the medium Aussie flag to wave. I think she may have missed her calling as a gogo dancer. She waved that ...

... was prepared to be busy, so it was well deserved! My birthday was all right...The morning and afternoon was spent working, and in the evening I was ready to continue working...when my colleagues surprised me with 2 strawberry tartes and icecream! Afterwards we ended up having a campfire...we had to test it out before the kids got there! ;)

... that I saw the newspapers and finally realised what had happened. I can only assume the Americans had reached a common agreement not to dwell on events they couldn't change, and make the best of their holiday regardless. Back to the present. After Port-Vendres, we arrived in Collioure. It was market day and parking was a challenge, but we know our way around and found a place up the hill from the town. We followed the storm drain ...

Hi everyone Its been ages since our last news and i am having difficulty with french keyboards. Since our last news we spent a lovely few days in the Cotswolds with friends eating too much as usual and exploring the delightful countryside. The spring blossoms were out but I didnt see any squirrels to my great disappointment. We then flew to Biarritz and explored the coastline and the old town. We had ...
