Back again today to Venice. Even an early start did not avoid the massive crowds of people! We went to Burano first, which I have completely fallen in love with. It is a very pretty fishing town on an island trip from Venice. I would certainly recommend anyone visiting here, but go early as most people stop at Murano first. We were lucky ...

Today we worked off our yummy breakfast of tea, coffee and fresh pastries from a little bakery by riding around an island of Venice called Lido. We caught the water bus over there which took about fifteen minutes and hired bikes. Rode all the way up one side of the island to the end and then back down the other side along where the beaches are. We stopped off and had a swim at the 'public' beach, rode some more and ...

... through Switzerland was breath-taking and there was still a lot of snow on the mountains. Also so many 'typical' Swiss chalets dotted amongst the alps. We arrived in Milan at 1.20 - just enough time to have foccaio for lunch and get on the 2.50 train to Venice. We got to Venice Santa Lucia at 4.40 and after a bit of asking around at tourist information, caught a taxi bus to Cal D'Ora and walked to Piazza Roma and ...
