This morning was a tad early even the sun had not come up when where waiting at the port for our ferry across if you can call it a ferry a lot larger than our perth ferry, eight floors to be exact and drive on drive of down the bottom for trucks not just cars .. We all found our little bit of couch our chair and proceeded to either sleep or read or both as the crossing takes about 3 hours. Talk about ...

Up waaaayy to early to catch the ferry to Rhodes. It's huge. Semi's driving in and pulling trailers off. About 8 of them and most of them went back 2 or 3 times. Sitting at the back of the ferry watching Kos and Turkey disappear. Very bumpy. It's almost like we can feel the engine vibrations.
Well as it was still dark decided to do like the locals and sleep on the free couches. Note to ...

... how I dared to imagine the Greek Islands to be like and I completely and utterly feel in love with the place, the people, the scenery and the food were all so incredibly beautiful, I'm already getting nostalgic and I haven't even left yet. PostScript - on my last night I went to a little taverna that was the type of place you only read about. It had no menu, instead you were invited into the kitchen to inspect what was cooking that night and make your choices from ...

... eating very nice Gyros. The streets were very busy, but they had really good soldiers to choose from, and Mum bought Tom and I a new soldier each.
Rhodes was once famous for the Collosus of Rhodes, which was one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. It was a 100 foot statue of the Greek God Helios, but it was destroyed by an earthquake in 226BC. People from Rhodes believed the statue may have offended Helios and he used an earthquake to tear it down. Now ...
