    In the morning, long travel south and cross the River Elbe en route to Bayreuth, home of the exclusive Wagner Festival. We will continue our journey to Würzburg to see the Marienburg Fortress and the Prince-Bishops' residence before our arrival in Rothenburg. We also have a dinner in the hotel tonight.     ... sedimentary rocks are like compresses layers that flake. Many contain fossils of plants birds animals and fish. Some seem to be caught in action poses. It was difficult to believe they were real. They are so detailed. We got back to Henfenfeld to find steam trains about to depart and Stephanie and Marco starving.     ... t able to focus properly. Even the trees seemed to have special personalities.

    At the end of some very enjoyable hours wandering without much specific intent, we headed back to "The Benedict's" place and engaged in a backyard BBQ which incorporated various languages, much german sausage intake and many laughing kids and giggling babies.

    ... and bought frikadellen and some salad stuff and put together a large salad (with a local beer) which were ate in the room. When we went to bed just before 10pm it became obvious that our room was going to be noisy - immediately above a quite busy road intersection with orange street lights. We got out the eye masks and earplugs and went off to sleep quickly (at least the quilts were lightweight ones so we could sleep with the provided bed linen).
