Its a warm, sunny day and we are soon on a bus for the a little over 1 hour trip to Pisa. As you walk along the the path beside an ancient wall, you come to an arch and then you see it - the beautiful sight of green lawns, blue sky - all a backdrop to the stunning white baptistry, the marble cathedral and the famous leaning ...

... salmon, caviar, egg, asparagus and bernaise covered in a jelly glaze for me, a chocolate and pine nut torte, and a custard filled pastry to share.

When I got the bill it seemed a bit cheap, so I checked it and found it was missing our savoury, so after communicating this they came back with a revised one. Shock it was more than expected, so I queried that and found apparently if we had eaten the savoury at the bar, not at table ...

... had missed the roman walls as they were inside a church not on the outside and we had not seen the aqueduct yet. To aid us on fixing this problem we Marco and Helene generously lent us their bikes so that we could be more mobile, we were very grateful as we would have run out of time otherwise.

Armed with Marco and Helene’s bikes we managed to see inside the Basilica, wander around the botanical gardens, see the Puccini museum, and ride out to the aqueduct, we even ...
