Amazing character hotel in the centre of the old town. Staff very helpful and friendly, big comfortable rooms, large shower with multiple settings, excellent breakfast. Very memorable stay and will come back again.

We arrived in Girona at about 11am. Our room was not ready yet, so we left the bags at the accommodating Hotel Llegendes and started our stroll through the city. Rafael, the owner is great. We did a little work in the school and then set off on a trek. Paths, through beautiful spanish countryside, with the occasional off-piste trek making our own paths through the woods. (It was more of on top and in the trees rather than through.) Phil, Sophie and Sue visited the Arab baths built in 1194 and we all then walked along the path that is called St Christopher's Way taking many photos. We all thought the city was very pretty and well worth the visit.
The spanish do speak very quickly but we have been getting by with Sue knowing some Spanish and Phil with his Italian which has similar words.
... and Michael (a Dutch couple). We explored uncrowded beach coves in the off-season chilly weather, built fires in the fireplace and played vigorous, soggy soccer among the olive trees in the backyard. As we checked out, Violetta paid us a high compliment. She said: It is a happy family that can be together in a house in the rain.
