... promenade and it was 6.30 pm but still very hot. We weren't impressed with this town. Very commercialised with lots of ugly accommodation for the tourists and dirty streets in just behind the sea. We enjoyed our bike ride with the cooler ocean breeze and headed back to make dinner at around 8pm. Now I know why they have dinner so late. Its too hot to eat any sooner. Just one night here and tomorrow we are back in France and heading for ...

The only negative note about today, other than the heat, is that the coastal road is very busy with ...

Eventually, though, it joined the main highway for a Final Descent (presumably with our seattrays up and chairbacks in ...

... t take long to see some of the others--Michael & Lucie and Sue & Don--at a tapas bar enjoying sangrias. We joined them, and after seeing the long list of items on the tapas menu decided to order up a few as dinner. It was such a Spanish thing to do, sipping sangria and nibbling tapas in the streets of old Girona. On the way back to the bus I picked up a decadent chocolate gelato cone, and that was the end of our day.
