Today is our day at sea spending it leisurely reading, walking a couple of laps around the ship, having lunch and enjoying the ambience of being on our balcony. The boys bought a bottle of 16 yr old Scotch on board ship at a very good price so that will be the start of their happy hour ...

    Chania (Souda) Crete

... everywhere, places and homes rundown, buildings started and never finished. The tour guide told us that during the mid 1900's lots of Turks came to Crete and built large mansions and they have now degenerated to a ramshackle shanty town. We first went on a rainbow slide with 5 separate slides of different colours. The slide was wavy so some parts were slower and then others went faster. There was another slide ...

It was rocky with high cliffs, but there was a lovely shallow sandy bay where our boat docked. First we went to see an old rusty shipwreck. There wasn't too much of it left. Then we scrambled over some rocks and started a climb up a staircase in the cliff to visit an old Venetian ...

    Flying to Crete

A travel blog entry by patelfamily on May 31, 2015

Today we woke up insanely early to catch the shuttle bus to the airport, where we then flew on to Crete. When we landed we collected the hire car and drove to the villa. The keys were meant to be hidden inside a plant pot to the far left of the front door. But we searched in all the plant pots and all the obvious places. In the end we had to drive back into town to phone the owner and ask her. She said to meet her at the house and she would show us the keys. ...
