It was amazing to walk through time from antiquities of Egypt and the Near East to Greek and Roman time then the 12th-21stC, rooms of sculptures, tapestries, carriages, maps of Italy and modern art. Well I was gob smacked, what a great dinner in any case, but the deal fantastic. 27.10.14 Got up to a car covered in a very heavy frost, took about twenty minutes with the motor running and the trusty Medicare Card to get some visibility. Drove to Toblach in the Dolomites and entered that fantastic National Park. Stunning ...

... remain in our hearts as our favorite European city. We were awed by the northern city of Bolzano and so thankful we got to experience the Dolomites. We were enchanted by the magic of the lakes, especially Lake Como, with low-lying clouds, misty mornings, twinkling evening lights. Everywhere, we were treated with kindness -- and treated to the most fabulous food, especially pasta, and wine.
