      ... one had concentric circles on the ceiling another Buddhas and a Buddhist scene with lotus flowers. Many if the caves had names and dates of their occupants, mostly date were in the 70's.
      The cove here is very pretty with a crescent shaped beach, lovely clear water, it would have been lovely living rent free in such beautiful surroundings.

      ... they looked like rows of Tibetan stupas in lines at the side of the roads, at one place we waited whilst a tractor pulled a pickup out. Some villages had a variety of snow ploughs, diggers and tracked vehicles clearing smaller roads.       Just an occasional hail storm this morning, so we are going to drive into Heraklion the 5th largest city in Greece and the capital city of Crete.       ... 7 O'clock, we hung the nearly dry washing around where we could inside and decided a quick standby tea was in order, we keep a jar if pasta sauce for just these occasions, unfortunately I knocked it off the worktop and it smashed onto the floor splattering everywhere with tomato sauce, our 'last resort' tea was put into operation, soup and sandwich.
