... ahead in the guidebook sometimes. After 4 months on the road, I don't always get to it. We couldn't decide on our next city or even country and planned to head to Albania. But after we talked to the guys at the hostel in Kotor, they recommended this mountain village. It's on the train line and should be beautiful this time of year if they get a blanket of snow.

And boy did they. We took a bus to Podgorica, the sleepy capital ...

... settlement, where a cascading stream enters from a side valley, through interesting rock formations with many potholes. After ascending this side valley for perhaps 3 km amid the colourful foliage of the season, we reached another so-called Blue Eye (Syri i kalter). As we drove into the city we both got the worst feeling about the ...

I arrived at the Istocno Sarajevo bus station by taxi at 1:43 p.m. My bus to Podgorica, Montenegro, pulled up just a minute after I walked into the station. I used the station's restroom, then checked my two suitcases at a cost of 2 marks ($1.34) each. I only had 3.60 marks remaining. The driver said something that must have translated into, "Okay, no problem." I boarded the bus and claimed Seat 1D – window seat on the right side of the first row. This is the best ...

Around 1 p.m. we reached Bogė. It is a tiny village at the end of the asphalt road as we knew it from the map. We had to confirm that this hasn't changed since the map was published and as it was terribly hot we stopped at the bar just before the dirt road started. We had something to eat and learnt that we still had about 30 km till Theth.

Well, the road was horribly bad and it was simply impossible to ride the bikes with all the ...
