... made walking down treacherous and exercised my heart in a whole different manner. I saw another German couple. In their 20s, carrying bulging backpacks, almost at the summit and not even breathing hard. I’m placating myself with the thought that I do much better in the water than up a mountain, especially with these custom flippers on the end of my stumpy legs. The dinner was really delicious: we get bean soup, boiled meat, salad and home-made yoghurt. Our accommodation was superb in Theth. We stayed in a huge house owned by a local family and our hosts prepared all meals for us. It was sad to know that the next morning we had to say goodbye to this idyllic ...

... intact old city, it was inevitable. We didn’t have the energy to climb the mountain with craggy city walls wiggling their way up to the church and palace at the top, so had lunch and just enjoyed the view.

From Kotor, we made our way around the Bay, and then headed north to Ostrog, where a monestry sits perched amongst the rocks, in carved caves. It is ultra religious, and we wandered in on a Sunday evening, when all the pilgrims where heading in. ...
