We caught the airport bus from the train station to Helsinki airport, which has the awesome airport code HEL. I think the signs on it really ought to say "welcome to hell", though I suspect the Helsinki tourist board would've nixed that. From the airport, it was a quick hop on the free shuttle to our suitably generic overpriced airport hotel for the night.
... to pack up proper. The hotel had graciously made a dental appointment for me with one of the local private dentists, so half an hour later tooth repaired and a happy customer out on the streets again. On a recommendation from a friend, we caught the no. 10 tram to the end of the line, but couldn't figure out how to pay, so didn't and the person we asked could not understand us. After having a quick walk through Old Helsinki we ended up by the (snow ...
Another moment sitting in a lounge waiting for the next flight. We have arrived back in Helsinki and are waiting to board the Finnair flight from Helsinki to Warsaw. We have had the benefit of the 'Aspire' Lounge (rather befitting given we can't really afford it but are paying for it anyway) to relax, imbibe and take in some peace and quiet whilst we sit out the wait for the next flight. Alexandra and Saskia have both come down with a bit ...
