Ito Arrival

A travel blog entry by canadiansmiley

Ito is a laid back city with lots of onsens. I stayed at the K's House hostel. It's 2900¥ but very nice place to stay and it has a onsen which one can explore. The hostel used to be a hotel and it dates back to 100 years ago. Very old wooden structure. Quite an experience for couple of nights. To get here it took me most of the day. The shinkansen is an amazing form of transportation, spotlessly clean (and the stations too), punctual to the minute and very comfortable. I remember watching a ...

... and paper, so anyone holding a flyer or wearing flowing fabric had a deer-wrestle ahead of them. This accounts for practically every tourist on the island and makes for amusing people-watching. Since leaving the island, I spent some whirlwind days in Tokyo and even managed to stay in my first capsule hotel. My pod was clean, comfortable and completely unchanged since the 1970's. Not a bad experience overall, though ...
