A little bit more of Freising

finally i managed to do a bit of shopping even here))) but talking about places to eat it's a great problem... all these restaurants that seemed to be very nice from ouside, turned out awful inside (design, level, service, food, etc)... once again we found a good one, but we spent about 20 min for that(((( but probably it was just a bad luck...

----

к&#107 2;к мо&#1078 ...

First impression

Bavaria welcomed me with 20 degrees (November!!!) that was just cool after 0 in Moscow)))
And especially it was funny to see Christmas decoration and souveneers walking just in t-shirt )
Evening was spent in Munich in fact, right in the centre, and the first impression is just great: quiet, beautiful, nice people...

---

з&#10 72;видуй& #1090;е все, в Бавар&#10 ...

A Medieval Town

... and many buildings dating from the middle ages. We saw the beautiful St. Peter Cathedral which, unlike many we’ve seen so far, did not have scaffolding around it. After the tour was over we returned to the cathedral to go inside. There has been a church of some sort on this site since 700. An earlier church burned down and the construction of this one started in 1280 and wasn’t finished until 1500, minus the steeples. It wasn&#8217 ...

End of our European travels

... gear (our Greece trip was a test-run for Asia) and finish packing up stuff to be sent to Australia in January. We also have to get our Chinese visas sorted out. Hopefully we'll also have time to relax too and soak up the comforts! Shortly before we left Santorini our eBay auction for Freda ended. We found out she ended up going for 2000 euro, which was our minimum point, but we'd hoped to get a few more hundred for our beloved campervan. In the end though, we are happy to not have ...

Corsica! Or not?

A few tidbits (or, as Yvonne likes to call them, timbits) about Corsica. It is 183 km from north to south and 85 km at its broadest point. The Tyrrhenian Sea separates it from the Italian mainland to the east, while the Ligurian Sea spans to the French coast to the north. The highest peak of the mountainous island, Monte Cinto, is 2706 m. The majority of roads - and when I say roads, I use the term in the loosest sense possible - are cracked, bumpy, narrow, windy and populated with ...

Recuperated and ready for more

This will be a quick one. The weather has been strange since we've been here. The days have been very hot - low to mid thirties; but then at night it's been so humid you could cut the air with a knife, and this always preceded a big thunder and lightning storm. It has only changed in the past couple of days...the overnight storms have stopped, but they've been replaced with strong winds and intermittent rains. We ended up staying a few ...

Chateaus, Bastille Day and Disneyland

... the last visit - of course, this being my first trip to the European version. We briefly felt self-conscious, being one of only a seemingly few adults sans children, but soon the kids within us were stirred and we ended up having a blast. We spent the entire day and night here, from opening to closing (10:00 AM - 11:00 PM), taking in the classics like 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'It's A Small World' (which Yvonne loves, but kind of gives me the willies). The 'Buzz Lightyear' ride was ...

Get in ma belly

... as well...three types of sausages, a couple cuts of pork, some chicken, and mystery meat on a stick. Even the potato salad had small bits of ham in it. And I'm pretty sure I tasted roast duck in the garlic bread. The spread would have made the most redneck Texan (Albertan?) proud! This is just my guess, but I think they don't have many bbq's here ...

Die Landshuter Hochzeit

... things that everyone else did, including being tossed into the air and standing at the very top of the pyramids. I couldn't help but wonder how that would go over in the U.S. We seem to be getting so concerned about possible litigation that our youth are prevented from experiencing life and testing themselves. (Okay, off of soapbox.) Just about the time the parade started, it began to rain again. The attendants asked us not to use umbrellas, because people in the upper rows wouldn't ...
