On our way to Cologne. We were warned about pickpockets when we arrived in Amsterdam and to watch our bags by the Tour Director. Drama began before we left. Having boarded the coach,Tour Director approached by a man who had a leather wallet of keys and showed him where he found them other side of bus. This morning some of us went on a bus/boat/walking tour of Amsterdam. Jet lag caught up with Anne and she was not able to come. I had forgotten how beautiful the old city of Amsterdam is, and it was very different seeing it from touring along the canals. I didn't realise how many houseboats there are lining the canals. We tried to find some cheap bikes to buy at the camping site today but they were all too expensive and there were no small bikes for Sascha. We left the camp site, said good bye to our cousins and drove to an archaeological park in Xanten. It was a Roman settlement many years ago and I got to dress up like a Gladiator in the museum.
