Currently we are sat on the bus coming back to the hostel from sirmione. It had been suggested to us as one of the quieter beaches of Garda. Maybe the receptionist got the wrong end of the stick as it definitely wasn't a quiet area. However it was pretty and the water was a lot nicer than Peschiera, so we've decided to forgive him. We got up about 9.45, speedily dressing or in some cases (Lucy) staying in our pyjamas, we rushed downstairs to catch the last ...

... walked back into the village and had a lovely afternoon wandering around the tiny streets and piazzas. We bought a couple of small souvenirs and then headed back to the car by about 5pm and drove the 20 minutes back to the campsite. So plan C worked out well and we still have Plan A and B to do another day. ...

We all answered during the Watchtower after the talk by a brother from Brescia English congregation and due to the small number of people in the congregation the same visiting brother then read the watchtower! Then after the meeting, talking to Carmello and his wife Alessandra they invited us back to their house for the equivalent of afternoon tea - watermelon and cold ...

... 10 x 10m when most are only 8x8m so plenty of space... Hoorah. So the next challenge was to site and level the caravan on a sloped pitch.. As we looked at it we realised the slope was in 3 directions! Now the Corries will understand the difficulties this presents as will any other caravanners out there. We needed to use ramps, chocks and stacker blocks which we had never done yet. Then once the caravan is level you have to start erecting the awning - again on a slope. ...

... through the toll! As you all know Mike is a very patient person and so this would be no problem sitting in a queue for a whole HOUR just to get off the motorway! As Mike scoured the map for any other possible route and also considered attempting to jump the queue and then push back in a little further up...however when towing a very large caravan this is not a very good idea and so we very patiently sat and sat and sat. Eventually we approached the toll booth with ticket ...
