        We had a chilled weekend and this evening we went for a walk down on the local beach and took some more photos back up to the village in which we are staying. Years ago it was a major venue for mass bridge tournaments so it is called the "Villagio Dei Bridge" - but now it has a few full time residents, but most of the apartments are either holiday homes or no longer used.         ... As you can see from the map we are on the edge of a national park, so the scenery around us is fantastic, and not what we expected. We headed North, on what can only be described as a "James Bond" type road - lots of wiggles, tunnels, and the obligatory Italian driver overtaking at every opportunity.         ... asked, in German, as this seemed to be our easiest joint language, if we wanted to stay 2 nights as booked; we decided to stay just one night as the area is pretty small with little to keep us entertained for longer! We checked can on the map and decided to see if we could book into the next hotel a day earlier........and we could!

        ... through and still haven't really got a feeling of her personality. It's all a bit superficial, a point that the author makes as an apology but it doesn't really help. Of course no journey is possible without its delays and this was no exception, as with that long arduous journey a week ago, we had a long delay at Salerno, sitting on the train that was to complete our journey. Once it got going, some 70 minutes later, it did move quite fast and hugged ...

        ... It was hard to find an English speaking person and when I did they sent me in the wrong direction a couple times. Eventually, I met up with my group and we found our bus and had a two and a half hour ride through southern Italy to our hotel. Sometimes napping, sometimes taking in the view, it was a nice ride.
