That’s not a misprint, I didn’t mean 300 I meant 30! The books say it is the most well preserved ancient ruin in the world! We paid the $10 admission fee to go in and look around and it felt like we were on the floor of the much more famous Roman Colosseum, looking up at the stands. All we needed was ...

I must thank Luigi for his hours of work to get all that done within a day, and being such a great host, making sure I had somewhere to stay, driving me around, etc....

... It was more modern than any other train station we've been in throughout Italy, including Rome's and Milan's. Air conditioned hallways, modern shopping throughout, a clearly marked and reasonably orderly taxi stand; it was a dream.

Our next surprise was our hotel itself, the Hotel Accademia. We got a bit nervous when we pulled up to scaffolding on the outside of the building, as the front is going through some renovation but ...
